Game environment created for my Realtime Visualization ANIM145 class at Drexel University. All objects were designed, modeled, textured, and placed by myself. Concept for the environment and design of the structure was also created by myself. This was my introduction to creating game assets specifically for realtime usage in Unreal Engine 4.
GAME ENVIRONMENT DESIGN SORCERY SWAMP
SORCERY SWAMP
This fictional environment showcases a small swamp-invested village with a hidden touch of magic! Hints of previous inhabitants show through boats and houses, with plenty of foliage covering the area. The magical lily pads spin around, giving the player a unique navigational challenge as they explore.
software used!
-
Used to create the environment, including lighting, water simulations, and foliage tools.
-
Used for creating all inorganic 3D models, such as the boat, lights, modular house kits, etc. Also used for creating UVs to be transferred to other software.
-
Used for all organic 3D modeling, including objects like the trees. This was my introduction to ZBrush as a unique tool for sculpting 3D models.
-
Both tools were utilized to create textures for 3D modeled objects, which could then be brought into Unreal Engine 4 to make detailed materials for the modeled objects I created. Photoshop was additionally used for all foliage, as it uses a 2.5D strategy rather than actual 3D models for each plant.
